After a delay, and a tumultuous series of headlines surrounding the departure of Ant-Man director and writer Edgar Wright and the hurried search for a director and writers to participate at the last moment, his place in the production of Marvel's next superhero origin story again on the rails. Ant-Man begins shooting yesterday in San Francisco and today we have our first official pictures of the shoot.

Disney and Marvel Studios just released the first official still which star Paul Rudd, not suitable in the Ant-Man costume yet quiet, but not dressed like his usual clean cut, handsome self or features.
Hoodie with battered face, black gloves and a leather purse, Rudd plays in Scott Lang Ant-Man and is an underdog - the person you would least expect the responsibilities of a hero and put himself in danger to save record world, let alone being recruited as a member of The Avengers.
He's an ex-con and a thief, and the picture above hints that he may be in the act of delivering stolen goods. In the comics Lang was a thief, do wrong for (mostly) for the right reasons, first to his family financial support, later to save lives. His daughter We do not quite know yet that the data he is on the character Long in the adjustment, but in the books, also an electronics expert, which makes him very well suited for the high-tech suit and bypass security control.
We do know that Ant-Man is a high-tech heist film with a strong focus on the mentor-mentee relationship between Michael Douglas's character, Hank Pym and Rudd's Scott Lang. Pym is the original Ant-Man in the comics and the creator of the size-changing technology, and we have long heard of the ideas of Wright's (when he wrote the screenplay) to a small portion of the film takes place in the '60s working with a young Pym as an agent during the Cuban missile crisis. Given the recent casting of John Slattery Howard Stark after playing him in Iron Man 2 (along with other potentially spoilery details) to play again, and that seems to be the case still.
